PERSATUAN ISLAM ( SINGAPURA)

Before Persatuan Islam was founded, a few future members have already acted in an unformal group, by the organisation named, Yayasan Pengajian Agama Islam Yishun, at Blk 620 Yishun since 1987 by holding religious classes for teenagers, women and men and being active in welfare and charity programs.

During 1995, due to overwhelming response for the classes held, reaching 500 participants, they decided to move to Masjid Petempatan Kampung Melayu Sembawang.

After Persatuan Islam was founded in 1997, education planning was given a priority. To aid the management, the madrasah/classes was shifted to Sembawang on 2003. Tafaqqu fiddin classes(higher learning in Islamic Matters)for women, men and teenagers was held at the same location.

Then came about the name, Persatuan Islam (Singapura). One main goal that is considered by Persatuan Islam (Singapura) is to have an organisation that is knowledgable in Islamic Law in accordance with Al Quran and As Sunnah.
